Macbook Pro with a spilled beer on the keyboard - FIXED!

The repair process for me was a bit confusing and worrisome at first. I was a bit concerned about sending it off somewhere. I made a quick phone call, spoke to one of their support reps who assured me that I was in good hands. My computer took a nasty spill and kinda stunk. It wouldn't work after an ice cold IPA spilled on the keyboard. I said what the heck, sent it in, and a little while later, received a quote from a nice lady who was extremely helpful. They cleaned the computer and then determined it needed a new keyboard. Now my computer functions great and works like a charm! Thank you so much!

I can't believe they fixed it!

I spilled a glass of wine on my near-new macbook pro. I immediately turned it off. In a moment of panic I turned to google and found ifixyouri. I gave them a call and they explained their easy process. Next thing i know it, they emailed me a label, i sent in my device, about 2 weeks later my computer was fixed and on its' way back to me! So happy and so thrilled! They saved my baby :) I can't thank you enough!

Hello,In having read your description of services I feel that you may be able to help me, but I want to make sure before proceeding. My laptop was siting on a table and water was spilled on the table and spread seeping underneath my laptop. The laptop was on, and the screen then died. I blow dried it and did not turn it on for a couple of weeks. I took it to the apple store where they opened it up and checked to see if there was corrosive damage (there did not seem to be any, or so the technician informed me) and proceeded to turn it on and run the diagnostic test. The computer booted up and turned on, it was running slowly but it did seem to be working. The battery was not recognized and powering the computer up after running the diagnostics was taking a long time. It then died again and I have not been able to turn it on again since.Being that I have turned it on (or tried) does that mean that you are now out of your jurisdiction to be able to help me? Or do you think your company could still help me? Answer:
Hi Nicole, We definitely can still help you out. Regardless of if you've powered it on or not, we can still fix it. It sounds like your battery may have shorted out. Also, a slow computer can be caused by other modular components failing. Either way, we'd recommend sending it in for our service, so we can clean it properly and test all the parts. Please let us know if you have any questions, we'll be happy to help you out.

Hello unfortunately someone puked(threw up) on my laptop. It no longer works or turns on.Does this water damage service cover that? Or will I have to pay an extra fee Answer:
Good Morning, The Laptop may have water damage. The water damage treatment does treat the cleaning of the computer. Since this would be a biohazard risk, there would be an additional fee, but to be sure, bring it into one of our repair centers to see what the damage is.

I'm confused - how much does fixing my computer cost? Is it dependent on what the issue ends up being? Do you communicate with me and get my approval before any expensive repairs? Answer:
Water damage repair for the MacBook starts at $59.99. If a cleaning is all that is needed to power up your device to the point of being able to retrieve data, that would be your only charge. If additional parts and labor are required to power up your device, they will be quoted separately. Our computer repair technicians would wait for your approval before proceeding with the repairs.

If after cleaning, you find - say, the logic board and display both need replacement on a Macbook Pro 13 inch retina (2013 model), what would the cost of fixing that approximately run a person? Answer:
If the logic board needs to be repaired, we offer that service for a flat rate of $300.

Hi, I spilled juiced on my laptop about a week ago, i turned it off before it could shut it off and turned it over while juice started to spill out of it, i then put it rice because i was panicking and thought that would help. I let it sit for 5 days, no use at all and today i turned it on and it works completely fine, the only problem is i hear a clicking sound under the keyboard, and a majority of the keys will not light up, however they can be typed on just fine. What should i do? Answer:
Hi Taylor, we would recommend sending it in for our water damage repair service. It is very important to clean and remove any of the juice from the logic board and the components. The clicking sounds like a failing hard drive. As for the keyboard with sticking keys and the backlight not functioning properly, that can be fixed with cleaning or replacement if cleaning does not fix the issue.

Hi there,My MacBook is water damaged. A technician assessed it and says the logic board is destroyed. What would be repair costs? Also, I am located in Canada...how much would shipping cost me and how long will it take? Thanks in advance.Shannon Answer:
Hello, If the logic board is in fact destroyed, we can fix it for a flat rate of $300. As for shipping to canada, that runs about $40-$50. The logic board repair service takes about 2-3 weeks to complete, depending on the severity. In order to get an accurate quote, we'd recommend sending it in for our water damage repair service.

Can you fix my MacBook air 13 inch. I spilled a 1/4 a bottle of sprite on it, but I had a keyboard protector I turned it off immediately as it started to circulate air loudly, I dried it immediately with paper towels and flipped it over. I however did put it in rice immediately though now it says it's a bad decision. Answer:

Hi, I had sprite spill on my MacBook pro but the laptop was closed . I guess it got it through the back where the fan is. Now looks like there is the noise of the fan and also the wifi does not work. Can this be repaired and how much would this cost? Answer:
Hello, Chances are we can fix it. We carry a very high success rate at repairing liquid damaged computers. The first step in repairing the device would be to clean the logic board and all of its' components. The noise you hear could be from the remains of the sprite impeding the fans ability to turn smoothly. The wifi not working could be from a similar issue. If anything needs to be replaced in order to restore functionality, we would contact you after the cleaning, where you can either approve or deny the repairs. Often times we see that proper cleaning restores a lot of the functionality of the the device.

hello, i have A MacBook Pro 13" Unibody 2.9GHz Core i7 with a water damage that i can´t imagine to not be repairable. the computer was on the desk while water got spilled on the desk, but not directly on the computer itself the water got in touch with the inside of the computer just through the ventilation that took the humidity from the bottom and apparently caused the damage. The screen flickered and then it was dead. i frankly wanted to try to repair it now, but i see you offer a quite cheap service for the matter. did you have a similar case before? Answer:
Hi Victor, we have repaired a wide range of water damaged computers. We have a very high success rate and recommend that you send it in as soon as possible.

Usually how long does it take to before we recieve the laptop after repairs? I know it depends on the problem of the laptop but whats the longest it take or average time? Answer:
Hi Ivan, it's really hard to give an average time because we deal with so many different devices. The water damage repair can take up to a week and if the device needs further repairs it will take longer. It all depends on what is wrong with it.

Hello, I recently had a spill accident of iced tea over my MacBook Air and took it into Apple today to see how bad the damage was and to see what my options were. The technician said liquid had got to everything inside underneath the keyboard and it would all need to be replaced, and with repairs through them it would be a flat rate of $750. I just wondered whether or not it would be best to just purchase a new or refurbished Mac or try and get mine fixed? And as well as the price range, I'm not sure how much it would be through your company to have pretty much all the internal parts replaced? Answer:
Hi Abby, to give you the most accurate quote we would have to see the device and conduct a diagnostic to see the extent of the damage. We very rarely see anything in need of $750 worth of repairs.

Hi Chris,$300 would be the rate if your device needed full logic board repair(if actual components shorted out and failed on the board). It would be in addition to the $59.99, which covers the cleaning of the logic board. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we'll be happy to help you out.

Hi, I sent my MacBook Pro retina 13" into the Apple Store because my trackpad was not responding. Everything else about the computer was working find I could even plug in a mouse through the usb and it would work fine. They came back saying there was water damage in my computer and that it would cost $750 to fix. So would all I need is the $60 water damage repair or will my trackpad need to be replaced if it's not responding and how much would this cost? Is this something you guys can fix? Answer:
Hello, Depending on the severity of the damage would determine what all it would take to get the device fixed. The cleaning service runs $59.99. If it needs any additional parts, we would contact you with a quote for repair. It could need just the cleaning, a new trackpad cable, or a new trackpad. Hello, unfortunately I had juice spilled on my MacBook Pro 13 inch computer. After searching online I came across your site, and after reading about the services you provide, I feel that you may be able to help me. Before I proceed I have a general question about your billing process. From my understanding, the water/liquid damage repair service is $59.99 ( not including any additional repairs that may be needed). I noticed that there is an option to also get insurance for my Mac. For example, if I pay an additional $5 ( so the total price would be $64.99) I would receive $250 in insurance. Does the insurance ($250) I receive go toward any additional repairs that may be needed, in order to repair my computer ( for example if I needed a new logic board that cost $300), or does it go toward something else.Thank you Answer:
Hi. The additional insurance is for shipping your device. In the event that your package was lost or damaged by UPS your device would be covered for the amount insured. We offer free ground shipping and $100 worth of insurance. If you wish to add additional insurance it would be an extra shipping cost.

I recently spilled water on the trackpad again but this time I didn't realize it so I believe the water sunk in. Now when I try to use the trackpad it has a mind of its own. The mouse will move on its on and zoom in all the time. I think some of my keyboard doesn't work either or I have tap several times to get it to work. Should I ship it for the water damage and if so how will the total cost calculate to? Answer:
Hi Daisy, it's amazing how just a little bit of water can create damage. There could be some corrosion caused by the first incident. The water damage process will provide you with a thorough cleaning of your computer and also a complete diagnostic to make sure nothing else is damaged. If something needs to be replaced the technician will discuss it in detail with you first.

Hello, yesterday I spilled a glass of water onto my Mac book Pro, I followed the instructions in your blog on what to do. I immediately flipped it upside down, shut it off, took off the back case wiped it down, and now it is air drying in my room. I thought I would wait two or three days before turning it on. If it does not power on in three days, do you think you can still repair it? My biggest concern, other than the cost of getting a new Mac book Pro, is retrieving the ten years of pictures I have stored on it. What do you think? Answer:
Hi Ashley, yes chances are we can fix the computer. Without seeing it, we can't say for certain. Majority of the time all of the data remains intact. We recommend that you get the device to us as soon as possible.

Hi, what is your average repair cost for water spilled onto keyboard? Assuming $59.99 is mostly for diagnostic and testing internals for failed parts, I am suspecting something on my wife's macbook pro 13" mid2012 shorted and is fried. The laptop shut down instantly. She immediately tipped it sideways and towel it off. When I got home hours later l opened it up and inspected. Found zero signs of any moisture on the internal components but I recognize my repair skills are not up for this task. Please help. Answer:
Hi Geoffrey, if any other components are damage we will provide you with an estimate for repair.

Hello! My MacBook was verified water damage and logic board damage by Apple. Is it possible to send it to you for a repair without having it tested for (pre-verified) water damage? Answer:
Hi Nathan, we would still run it through our water damage treatment to clean up the corrosion. We do offer logic board repair as well.

Hi last night red wine spilled on my MacBook Pro. I tried to turn it on . It would not. I thought it was dead . Charged it over night. Did not turn on in a. m. It is now upside down. Think you can fix it? I have to wait until next week before I have the 59.99 fee. Will that be too late ? Answer:
We have successfully repaired many phones that have been water damaged due to similar situations. We recommend that you get it in to us as soon as possible so the water does not cause any additional damage.

If you guys are able to fix my laptop from a juice spill, will all of my pictures still be saved? Or will I loose everything ? /: Answer:
Hi Marina, we only claim that the water damage repair service is successful if we are able to power up your device and retrieve data. In this situation, typically your data (including your pictures) can be saved. Over the years we have had some cases where some but not all data is able to be retrieved, but it is not the typical outcome.
