Description
The MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Pro/Max (A2442, 2021) is the redesign that brought back MagSafe, HDMI and the SD slot, with a mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display. A loose, burnt or dead charging port on it is repaired by replacing the MagSafe DC-In Board, not the whole logic board.
About the MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Pro/Max (A2442)
For power and accessories it has MagSafe 3, Thunderbolt ports, HDMI and an SDXC slot. Most MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Pro/Max machines are now past Apple's warranty and AppleCare, which is where an independent repair saves the most.

- Accessories and drives keep disconnecting
What we do
We test every port, the charger and cable, then replace the MagSafe DC-In Board if it has failed. That is far cheaper than a logic board repair. Afterwards we test charging, data and display output.
Price
- MagSafe DC-In Board: $127.99
Every repair starts with incoming diagnostics. If we find anything else, we contact you before doing more work.
Mail-in or walk-in
Mail-in is simple: order, print the prepaid UPS label we email you (it includes $100 of insurance), and ship the MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Pro/Max by itself in a well-padded box. Include your order confirmation so we can match it quickly. You get updates when it arrives, when it is fixed and when it ships back.
Prefer to hand it over in person? Our Jupiter store on Donald Ross Road takes walk-ins six days a week, 10 to 7, with Sunday appointments 11 to 5.
Warranty
Every part we install carries a 90-day warranty. That covers the part and our work, not fresh drops or liquid.
Common questions
Could it be my charger?
Try another charger and cable first. If the Mac still will not charge, it is the port board or the power circuit, and we test both.
Will my data be affected?
No. The port board is separate from storage.
How do I confirm I have the MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Pro/Max?
Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. It lists the screen size and year, and the chip, which should read Apple M1 Pro or M1 Max. The model number printed on the bottom case is A2442.
