Description
The MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 (A2338, 2020–2022) is the last MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar, sold with the M1 in 2020 and the M2 in 2022. If its trackpad has stopped giving haptic clicks, drags on its own, or only responds in one corner, the trackpad needs replacing.
About the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 (A2338)
The Force Touch trackpad has no moving click mechanism; the click you feel comes from a haptic engine underneath. Most MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 machines are now past Apple's warranty and AppleCare, which is where an independent repair saves the most.

What we do
We check the battery first, because a swollen battery is the most common reason a MacBook trackpad stops clicking. If the trackpad itself has failed, we replace it and test clicks, Force Touch pressure and multi-touch gestures.
Price
- Replacement Trackpad: $174.99
Every repair starts with incoming diagnostics. If we find anything else, we contact you before doing more work.
Mail-in or walk-in
Order online and we email you a prepaid UPS label with $100 of shipping insurance. Pack the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 on its own in a sturdy box with some padding, no case, cable or charger, and tuck your order confirmation inside. It is checked in on arrival, repaired, tested and shipped straight back with tracking.
In Palm Beach County you can skip shipping and walk into our Jupiter store on Donald Ross Road, Monday to Saturday 10 am to 7 pm, Sundays by appointment.
Warranty
Every part we install carries a 90-day warranty. That covers the part and our work, not fresh drops or liquid.
Common questions
Why check the battery?
A swelling battery sits right under the trackpad and presses on it. Replacing the trackpad without dealing with that would not fix the problem.
Will gestures and Force Touch work?
Yes. We test haptic feedback, Force Touch and every gesture before it ships back.
How do I confirm I have the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2?
Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. It lists the screen size and year, and the chip, which should read Apple M1 or M2. The model number printed on the bottom case is A2338.
