Description

Crackling, rattling or silent speakers on the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 usually mean a blown speaker from high volume, or damage after a spill. The MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 (A2338, 2020–2022) is the last MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar, sold with the M1 in 2020 and the M2 in 2022.

About the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 (A2338)

It is fan-cooled, and a blocked fan or vent is worth checking whenever it runs hot. Its speakers sit either side of the keyboard, under the grilles in the top case. Most MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2 machines are now past Apple's warranty and AppleCare, which is where an independent repair saves the most.

Common questions

Is it software or hardware?

Try headphones. If they sound fine but the speakers do not, it is hardware.

Do you replace both sides?

Only the side that has failed, unless both have.

How do I confirm I have the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1/M2?

Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. It lists the screen size and year, and the chip, which should read Apple M1 or M2. The model number printed on the bottom case is A2338.

Talk to a real technician at 888-494-4349, or email support@ifixyouri.com. We are happy to confirm the fault before you buy.
